Also know as the Crystal Palace exhibition because of the modern building it was set in, the Great Exhibition was an opportunity for many great industrial revolution inventors to show prototypes of what would become popular technology. Inventors such as Samuel Colt with his Colt Navy prototype and Frederick Bakewell with his fax machine prototype presented their inventions during the exhibition. It was attended by many famous people, such as members of the house of Orleans and Charles Dickens attended the event.
