jun 7, 1815 - Battle of Waterloo
Description:
Napoleon had been banished to the tiiiny island of Elba, where he was leading a little colony and revitalizing their garbage system. However, he soon heard of Louis XVIII's lackluster leadership and daringly escaped. He marched on Paris, and was joined by many officers and soldiers. However, a few short months later, the allies joined forces at Waterloo. They crushed his forces and imprisoned him on the rocky island of St. Helena, off the west coast of Africa. He lived here until his death, and took revenge by writing his memoirs, nurturing the myth that he had been Europe's revolutionary liberator, a romantic hero whose lofty work had been undone by oppressive reactionaries.
