After the battle of Cumorah the Lamanites began to hunt out any Nephites who had escaped the destruction. They were hunted from city to city and place to place until. Moroni tells us that by this time there were none left, but there are some indications that a few still wondered the land, unknown to Moroni or the Lamanites.Regardless, by this time the Nephites no longer existed as a distinct people.
