apr 28, 377 - Battle of Jordan
Description:
The Lamanites came against the armies of Mormon at Jordan. It is likely that they had learned that Mormon once again led the Nephites and was at Jordan. Thus the idea would have been to destroy the last hope of the Nephites by defeating Mormon, the great military hero.
However, in this plan they failed. The Nephites, likely due largely to Mormon’s leadership, won the day. The Lamanites were driven back and the Nephites maintained the city.
Shortly after this the Lamanites brought a new army against Jordan. This time they were again defeated, but they were not driven back. It seems that while the Nephites maintained the city, the army of the Lamanites remained close by.
