feb 22, 1829 - Stephenson’s Rocket
Description:
The first steam locomotive built—traveled between Manchester and Liverpool at 35 mph. This signified the rise of the railroad, and the beginning of decreased transportation costs for transporting good. This allowed any manufactured goods to reach a larger market, which meant that factories were able to expand their size as well. This also created a demand for urban workers.
