jan 1, 1760 - The Industrial
Revolution
Description:
While it's hard to pinpoint the exact years of the Industrial Revolution, some historians put it at roughly 1760 to 1840. Though some inventions that would play a big part in the Industrial Revolution would be invented and refined far before this range of years. The Steam Engine for example was invented in 1698 but would be improved over the next century or so, ultimately creating a design that would be used in the majority of steam powered machines during the mid 18th and 19th centuries. Another such device is the Flying Shuttle in 1733 which automated weaving for the textile industry and this would be improved to the more standard Spinning Jenny in 1764. The first steam powered locamotive was built in 1804 and the first steam powered ship followed in 1807.
