apr 30, 1789 - George Washington
Description:
George Washington was inaugurated as the first President of the United States following the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. His term created many precedents that would be followed for generations of Presidents, such as the idea that a President must only serve 2 terms at maximum (this was not against the Constitution until Franklin Delano Roosevelt died at the beginning of his 4th Elected Term).
