The park was closed specifically to welcome Michael Jackson and his guests. Around 10:45, Michael arrived by bus, in a park under high security, accompanied in particular by Frank DiLeo, his manager, Karen Faye, his makeup artist, and Bill Bray, the chief of his security.

Michael began by visiting the popular Lisebergbanan presented as the largest and longest roller coaster ride in Europe in 1987. He continued with the LisebergsLoopen, one of Scandinavia's first big eight at the time.
