oct 1, 1730 - The Great Awakening
Description:
The Great Awakening was a series of religious rivals that rebelled against established religions. It went into effect during the late 1730's and 1740s, public masses would gather around two famous preachers, George Whitefield and Tenant, listening for hours as they delivered their message. It stressed the importance that their religion was up to them, not the church and the realization that the colonies in fact didn't need the English monarch, the power was in their hands. The Great Awakening was the start of the new practices and mind-sets, something that would change the new world forever.
