Description:

After the French and Indian War, Britain wanted to protect the colonist from the Native Americans. To do this they made the Proclamation of 1763 that stated that the colonist couldn't settle in land towards the West. This angered many colonist making many believe that this wasn't a way for their protection but instead for Britain's own personal interest. The colonist felt that they should be able to expand because they were also part of the war and even helped Britain fight, so they ignored Britain and expanded West. Colonist started to resent Great Britain and desired to be their own independent country
