The Shang Dynasty as of now is China's earliest confirmed Dynasty excluding the yet to be confirmed Xia Dynasty. While the exact beginning of the Dynasty is unclear, most historians would put it roughly between 1600 - 1500 BC. The Shang Dynasty is also notable for providing us with the earliest examples of Chinese writing known as "Oracle Bones". These carved bones were found in large quantities in sites such as Yinxu in the city of Anyang.Added to timeline:
