Description:

The battle of Stalingrad started in August of 1942. The battle took place in the city of Stalingrad. The ruler of the soviet union Joseph Stalin ordered his troops to fight back against the nazi soldiers. It resulted in nearly 200,000 deaths of the soviet troops. While the battle resulted in many deaths the soviets successfully held back the german troops. However the german air force also known as the luftwaffe had taken control of the air and had successfully destroyed the cities trade routes. Soon the Luftwaffe had control of stalingrad's airspace. The soviets fought till there was no fight to fight. Stalingrad was soon in ruins.
