Description:
Establish a central body called the Council.
Council shall consist of the following members
the Minister in charge of 'technical education in the Central Government, ex officio,. As Chairman;
the Chairman of each Institute, Ex offici;
the Director of each Institute, Ex officio;
the Chairman, University Grants Commission, Ex officio;
the Director-General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ex officio;
the Chairman of the Council of IISc, Bangalore, Ex officio;
the Director of IISc, Bangalore, ex officio;
three persons- nominated by the Central Government, to represent
- Ministry concerned with technical education,
- Ministry of Finance
-other Ministry;
one person-nominated by the AII- India Council for Technical Education;
three Members of Parliament
An officer of the Ministry of the Central Government concerned with technical-as the Secretary of the Council.
