Description:

Singapore was one of many islands that were attacked and taken over by Japan in 1942. After pearl harbor was attacked, the US didn’t have a sufficient navy force to help protect the islands near Japan. When Japan went to Singapore, they killed 61 civilians. The British did not have enough men nor gun power and they had to surrender. Japan attacked these islands to obtain much needed oil for their military.
