The government of Iran confirmed the deaths of 36 people during the protests, while reports were unconfirmed at least 72 deaths in the 3-month following the election. There were reports of thousands more were arrested and tortured in prisons around the country, with former inmates claiming mass rape of both men, women, and children by the Revolutionary Guards in prisons of Iran. Families and relatives of the deceased were forced to sign documents that says their cause of death were due by heart attack or meningitis.Authorities of Iran closed universities in Tehran, blocked websites, cutoff mobile signals and banned rallies.Added to timeline:
