Description:
Geneva was the site of a large Calvinist social reform in which the local catholic government was formally overthrown, on May 21, 1536, and was replaced by a Calvinist governing body. John Calvin himself moved to the city later that year and created laws that made Geneva the first fully Calvinist city.
