Description:

The HMS Gaspee was a British schooner that was enforcing the Navigation Acts in the waters around Maine. It was chasing the schooner Hannah when the Gaspee got stuck and ran aground on a sandbar. Being stuck, eight Patriot ships boarded, raided, and torched the site of the ran-aground Gaspee. 1 British officer was killed and the captain of the vessel was taken captive.
