jan 21, 323 - Three Disciples Removed

Description:

Even though there were four years of peace, the people continued in wickedness; both the Nephites and the Lamanites. They became so hardened that God would not allow the Three Disciples of Christ who had tarried to remain among the people.
We are not told exactly when the three were taken, but it was during this period of peace. They had faithfully ministered to the people in great power for nearly 300 years. They had suffered many persecutions and performed many great miracles. They preached with power. They had been their when Christ visited the Nephites and had lived through the 160 year of perfect peace and joy among the people. They also witnessed and wickedness once again took hold of the hearts of the people and they those who had once been so favored of the Lord dwindle in wickedness. They had sorrowed much over this fall of their people.
Now, finally, after so much sorrow, the Lord withdrew them from the people, for neither the Lamanites nor the Nephites were worthy to have such great men in their midst. They were given a rest from their sorrows, and held in reserve to minister only to those who remained faithful, as will later be seen.
