Description:

Amos the II died in this year, and the records were passed to his brother Ammaron. We are not told why it was his brother and not his son that inherited the records. It may have been that his sons had been caught up in the wickedness of the people, or that he had no sons of appropriate age.
Whatever the reason, Ammaron became the last to write in the Fourth Book of Nephi, and the last Alma’s direct descendants to keep the record.
