Description:
While the secret band had hoped that in killing Lachoneus they could seize power and take control of the people, they were disappointed in this. While they successfully killed the Chief Judge, the people were far too divided already, and the death destabilized the entire population.
The people divided according to their families, thus forming many different tribes. We are told that everyone had large, extended families, as well as many friends. Thus we know that families did join together, and soon the tribes became very great and divided the land. Each tribe established their own government and their own laws. We are not given any details regarding this, but it seems likely that some tried to imitate the judges, while others had kings or tribal chiefs.
