The Chase for Booth could have been cut short twice in his escape from Washington. The first at the theatre itself when a man almost caught up with booth. Then at the north bridge of Washington D.C. where a guard nearly stopped him because the bridge was closed. If that guard hadn't Booth go then booth would have been stuck in the city and captured easily.
