sep 12, 18 - Robbers Attack
Description:
After spending several months back in the wilderness, Giddianhi led the Robbers in a direct attack against the Nephites. It seems that there was not enough game in the wilderness for them to sustain their numbers through hunting.
So, in the sixth month of the year (we are not told what day) Giddianhi and the Robbers attacked the Nephites.
When the Nephites saw the army of the Gadianton Robbers baring down on them, they fell to their knees and began to pray. The Robbers thought that they had fallen in fear, and took great courage from this false perception.
When they reached the line of the Nephites, however, they were met with a powerful resistance. For it seems that the instant they were within reach the Nephites stood and began to slaughter them.
Once again the battle became so sore that we are told that there never had been such a great slaughter among the descendants of Lehi.
