jan 11, 17 - The Gathering

It seems to have taken some time to get all the people together, along with their animals and food. We are told that it was in the latter end of this year that they finally were all together.
Lachoneus and Gidgiddoni both preached powerfully to the people. Lachoneus also oversaw the fortifying of the land, while Gidgiddoni organized and deployed the armies. Under their leadership, and largely due to their preaching, the people were brought to repentance and were greatly strengthen by the Lord.
Now, in this narrative we are told nothing of Nephi II. However, as he was the keeper of the Plates of Nephi, we know that this is taken from his writings. As such he was there, and was likely preaching with Lachoneus and Gidgiddoni. He was also the head of the church at this time.
It seems that he was not mentioned mainly because he was not directly involved in the political of military actions, but was rather involved solely in the religious aspects.
