Even though the signs and wonders increased in this year, the wicked still persisted in their denial of the truth. They declared that the time for the great sign of the birth of Christ was past, and they joined together in their desire to kill all those who believed. To this end they designated a particular day in which, if the sign was not given, they would carry out their plans to slaughter the faithful.
It would appear that the day set aside would have been the 5th of April. This would place the sign as coming that night, and Christ would have been born the following day. Remember that when it is day in America it is night in the Middle East. Thus the night of the sign in America would have been the day that Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem. When night came for Joseph and Mary, and Christ was born, it would have then been the day after the sign in America.
