jun 30, 1863 - Battle of Gettysburg
Gettysburg was a major turning point in the Civil war and also took the most lives of any battle. This was a decisive win for the Union army because of the higher ground they possessed over the Confederate army. General Lee failed to relieve the pressure on Vicksburg, and he lost over one third of his men. This battle split the Confederacy in half, which was a marker of the Confederacy’s end.
