jan 1, 1864 - The Year of Sherman

Description:

1864 was the year of Sherman for many reasons. One, his victory at the Battle of Atlanta fueled his 'March to the Sea,' which led to the confiscation of lands, the burning of Atlanta, Savannah being gifted to the president, etc. Additionally, he recognized the hostility of the people living in the South, yet warned them about what was going to happen, which led to a cutdown of communication and transportation within the Confederacy.
