Description:
In this year the Nephites and Lamanites again assembled their armies and went to war against these new robbers. All this year they fought them, killing many. However, they also lost many and eventually had to return to their homes.
By this time the Gadianton Robbers were so well entrenched, and so subtle in their hiding places, that they set at defiance all the armies of the Nephites and the Lamanites. It had become impossible to dislodge them from their strongholds in the mountains.
Also, there continued to be many who dissented over to join them, and thus their numbers continued to grow.
Then, when they went on their raids they took many prisoners, and especially the young women and the children. In doing this they could set up secret settlement and raise families in their wickedness.
