jan 11, 1861 - Lincoln suspend Habeas Corpus

Description:

John Merryman was arrested for attempting to stop the movement of Union troops from Baltimore to Washington. His attorney then files for an act of Habeas Corpus and to appear before a judge, however Lincoln suspended the right of Habeas Corpus. This decision was later overturned in the Supreme Court.
