Description:

From the get-go, the North had a significant leg up. Some advantage the North had include:

-Much greater amounts of industrialization
-Higher population (and therefore more troops)
-Significantly larger naval force
-Iron and other raw resources
-More railroads and telegraph lines

While the Union had a rough start, Lee's defeat at Gettysburg was devastating to teh point that the South could no longer recover.
