14h 4min, sep 5, 1755 y - Deportation of the Acadians
Description:
Prior to 1755, the Acadians had lived peacefully under British rule for more than 30 years. However, during those 30 years the British ha constantly demanded that the Acadians take an unconditional oath. The Acadians refused, they would remain neutral but they would not take sides. This scared the English because they believed that if there were conflict between the French and English, the Acadians would take the side of the French. Therefore on September 5th 1755, Governor Lawrence decided the only solution was to deport the Acadians. So, thats exactly what he did, the Acadians were shipped off with only what possessions the could carry.
