Description:

Previously, Mussolini held the job in Italy of the Prime Minister. On Christmas Eve, his formal title was changed from “president of the Council of Ministers” to “head of the government” and thereafter he began styling himself as 'Il Duce' or leader. He would use this newfound title of power to establish himself as the dominant figure for Italy in front of King Victor Emmanuel.
