jan 13, 1453 - 1453 c.e. Fall of Constantinople - The Ottomans attacked and broke into Constantinople, looting and capturing the city which they then converted into a mosque. This was significant because this was the fall of the Byzantine Empire and the beginning of the new capital of the Ottoman Empire.
