Habeas Corpus Suspension Act passes.
Description:
On march 3, 1863, Congress passes this act making it the first time in american history that congress drafted U.S. Citizens for the army. Males between the ages of 20-45, could either pay 300 dollars or select another draftee to escape their own draft. Lincoln also suspended any prisoner from having the right to go to court to challenge their rule.
