The Blackshirts were a militant Fascist organization who were known for their black shirts which were a part of their uniforms. By the end of 1920 the Blackshirts were attacking and destroying the organizations of socialists, communists, republicans, Catholics, trade unionists, and more groups. As the group increased in number, hundreds of people were killed. This was signficant for Italy because it was the foundation of a very militant and fascist nation leading up to WWII.Added to timeline:
