The programming language Java was initially created in 1991 by James Gosling, Mike Sheridan, and Patrick Naughton, but it was first released in 1996.

3. It had to be architecture-neutral and portable.
4. It had to execute with high performance.
5. it had to be interpreted, threaded, and dynamic.
