Description:
In this year the second generation from Christ has passed away. Despite some divisions among the people the time had seen continual peace. It does say there were a few left, so it may have been a few years before all were actually dead, but this year is given in the record as the end of the second generation, and it marked the end of the peace that the people had enjoyed.
In this case the word generation does not refer to parent to child, but rather to all those who were alive at the time that the first generation ended. It includes all ages, even the youngest baby who was alive at the time.
So, the first generation ended when the last person to have lived when Christ appeared died. The second generation ended when the last person who was alive at the end of the first generation died.
