Anti Drug Act Reagan signed the anti drug act in 1986 witch aloited 1.7 billion$ to continue the war on drugs this act also raised the minimum sentence for some drug offenses and in the years to follow nonviolent drug offenses skyrocketed going from 50,000 in 1980 to 400,000 in 1997
