Description:
The Treaty of Tordesillas was signed by Spain and Portugal, and it divided the western world along with an imaginary North-South line. In this agreement, Spain could claim andy land West of the line as long as it was not already under Christian rule. The Portuguese, on the other hand, gained a few rights for land to the east of the line. (4.3)
