jun 27, 1556 - Reign of Akbar (1556 C.E.-1605 C.E.)

Description:

Akbar ruled over the Mughal empire and took control by throwing Adham Khan out the window, dragging him from the courtyard, and tossing him out again. Akbar was a no-nonsense ruler, but at the same time very sensible. He was extremely religiously tolerant, which was great for all people, especially the Hindus. Akbar also created a new hybrid religion that took into account Islam, as well as other traditions and pieces from other faiths. This most likely contributed to why he was so tolerant. Finally, he greatly centralized the Mughal empire. (4.2, 4.3)
