(Date approximate) (Around this year, the Kazakh Khanate gained independence from the Uzbek Khanate, a successor of the Golden Horde of the Mongols. While the Khanate experienced several periods of turmoil, under the leadership of several great Khans it managed to conquer much of modern Kazakhstan and achieve some stability.
