dec 15, 1912 - Second Treaty of Aurenia
Description:
The Second Treaty of Aurenia, much like the First Treaty of Aurenia, was an attempt at reforming Ascolla into a republic, much like the Second Republic of Ternev. After the failure of the first treaty and the subsequent Kalenian Rebellion, the ARA reluctantly agreed to allow partial democratic reforms to the country, fearing a large-scale civil war should they refuse.
The reforms would mean that citizens could vote for who they wanted to represent them in the ARC, and the first vote was held on December 15. Unsurprisingly, all councillors put in the ARC by the ARA were voted out by a huge margin. The ARA initially refused to release their control over the ARC, but would eventually cave, allowing the people voted in to assume their roles.
