During the Battle of Maxia, in an altercation with a Ferengi vessel, the Stargazer is lost. After travelling by escape shuttle, Picard and the survivors are returned to Federation space. Picard's actions were called into question during his court martial, but he was exonerated by the inquiry board and was later awarded the Grankite Order of Tactics (Class of Excellence) for the development of the "Picard Maneuver".Added to timeline:
