jan 1, 1913 - Niels Bohr
Description:
He proposed that electrons move in circular orbits around the nucleus . Electrons closer to the nucleus have less energy than electrons farther away. When energy is added to the atom, electrons gain energy and move from a lower energy level to a higher energy level. When they return to lower energy level, they release a specific amount of energy. He made his discovery experimenting with hydrogen atoms.
