Contained hieroglyphic symbols for + and -.
Found and donated to the British Museum in 1858 in Thebes by A. Henry Rhind.
Written in hieratic/cursive script by a scribe named Ahmes and is said to be a copy of a papyrus from early 1800's BCE.
The scroll is nearly 18 ft long and 13 in. wide, though now it is broken into two pieces. It is the longest and best preserved mathematical papyrus. Included area of triangles, approximation of area of a circle using an octagon.
