aug 18, 1920 - 19th Amendment
Description:
The 19th amendment was passed giving women the right to vote. This is significant because since almost the beginning of time women have been denied the basic rights that men received even though they were just as much citizens of the United States. This has always been a problem and giving women the right to vote was the first step into making the world a more equal place for women. The right to vote was the very centerpiece of the women’s rights movement.
