oct 12, 62 BC - Pahoran Restored

Description:

When Moroni received Pahoran's epistle and learned of the Kingmen's insurrection, he immediately made preparations to go to Zarahemla with his armies. In his march he gathered all that were able to join him.
He first went to Gideon and joined his army to that of Pahoran. Then the two of them marched strait to Zarahemla.

This great army gave battle to the Kingmen at Zarahemla. In this battle the King (named Pachus as you may recall) was killed. The rest of them were either killed or captured.

However, this time Moroni and Pahoran did not postpone their trials. They also took all those who had been in prison from the first insurrection and tried them at this time.
The result of these trials was that each man either had to take up arms and fight in the army against the Lamanites, or they were immediately executed.

The record says that this law was strictly observed in order to maintain the peace of the Nephites. Any who would deny the freedom of the people were executed for treason.
