General Electric Company was founded by Thomas Edison as he consolidated a number of electric companies. It would go on to become one of the largest US-based electrical companies. This event represents Work, Exchange, and Technology because Edison's used his inventions to make a business. In an era of new technologies, Edison sought to make a large fortune off of the new electrical appliances. His company was able to bring these technologies to new and larger markets.
