Description:
Approximate time at which the Bassetki Statue is thought to have been crafted. When complete it depicted the nude form of Naram-Sin, a self-proclaimed god, and stood in the doorway of a temple erected in his honour.
The statue was cast from pure copper and shows the extraordinary skill of Akkadian craftsmen. It is currently on display in the National Museum of Iraq, Baghdad.
