Description:

Holdsworth graduated with a BSEE from UVM in May 1986, and left the band to pursue a career in electrical engineering. According to Trey, Jeff just wanted to play in a normal rock band, but when Trey started writing prog/jazz rock compositions like You Enjoy Myself and Fluffhead, he wasn't interested in learning them. Good thing Trey decided to let Page join, because he mentioned that Page was fully enthusiastic about going along with whatever direction the band would take.

His departure solidified the quartet lineup from 1986 to present day: Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, and Page McConnell. Never anyone else.
