Korean War was near the ending of World War II led to the division between North Korea and South Korea. Korea had been controlled by Japan from 1905 to 1945. In 1945, the Soviet Union occupied North Korea and the US occupied South Korea. The countries were then divided by the 38th parallel. North Korea was a communist country and was aided with resources and weapons by the Soviet Union, which was led by Kim II Sung. On the other hand, South Korea is a capitalist government, which was aided by the United States. The Korean War began when North Korea army crossed the 38th parallel and invaded the South. The United States did not communism to spread. Korean War ended on July 27, 1953. A peace treaty was created.
